His works are still done. He created and advanced a variety of Ballet, and Theatre. He was a performer as well as a writer. The patronage of Louis the XIV of France greatly assisted him.

Explanation:

He combined Italian Commedia dell'arte and more traditional French comedy. Commedia dell'arte allowed some improvisation which suited the quick writing style of some of Moliere's works. There was much criticism of his works particularly by the Church. The Patronage of Louis the XIV helped him withstand their attacks. He was careful not to criticize the Monarchy very much.

The Misanthrope, Tartuffe and The Miser are some of his masterpieces. His works have been translated into a number of Languages.
