MLK Jr. Assassination

Explanation:

They were generally angry about it. There were riots in every major city in the states. Except one. Indianapolis. Robert Kennedy (brother of JFK who would also be assassinated about 68 days later) was in Indianapolis when MLK Jr. was killed. RFK then wrote a speech on a notecard and stood on the back of a pickup truck and gave a speech to the black community. It's a very good speech I recommend that you watch it. So the African-American community was angered by the assassination and rioted, except in Indy, where RFK gave his speech.
