Find any common denominator of 13 and 14.
I always use the simplest and just multiply them together to get a common demoninator
13*14=182

Multiply each fraction by '1' so they have the same denominator

(xcolor(blue)*color(blue)14)/(13color(blue)*color(blue)14)-(xcolor(blue)*color(blue)13)/(14color(blue)*color(blue)13)=1

(14x)/182-(13x)/182=1
