Leukaemia (Blood Cancer) is a group of cancers that usually begin in the bone marrow and result in high numbers of abnormal white cells.

• Anemia

• Weakness, tiredness, shortness of breath, lightheadedness and palpitations.

• Infections due to normal white blood cells.

• Fever, malaise and sweats.

• Purpura, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, bleeding and bruising due to lack of platelets.

Leukaemia prevents the immune system from working normally. People with leukaemia may easily become bruised, bleed excessively, or develop pinprick bleeds.
