Explanation:
At divergent plate boundaries, two plates are pushing together, building up pressure. Suddenly this pressure is released causing a violent shudder, or as we know it, an earthquake.
This relates to the lithosphere because this is the are where these tectonic plates are.
Tectonic plates are like sub-layers of the earth made out of rock.
