Explanation:
Pathetic fallacy is when the weather/conditions match the events, for example it is always a rainy night in a horror story.
It is used in Gothic writing to set the spooky, strange scene that is to be continued throughout the novel.
It also really helps the reader envisage what is happening and become involved and captured by the story.
