Explanation:

Ribosome are granular structures that are made up of two parts i.e larger subunit and smaller subunit. The two subunits on combining with each other make ribosomes. These subunits are made up of RNA and proteins.
In case of eukaryotes, the larger ribosomal subunit sediments at #"60S"##("sverdberg")# in an ultracentrifuge while the smaller subunit sediments at #"40S"#. The two subunits when combine with each other they form #"80S"# particle.
