#5x+10=28-7x#
#12x=18#
#x=18/12=3/2#

#5(x+2)=7(4-x)#

Let's start with the distributive property

#(5)(x)+(5)(2)=(7)(4)+(7)(-x)#

#5x + 10 = 28 - 7x#

Transferring #-7x# on the left side(don't forget to change the sign)

#5x + 7x + 10 = 28#

#12x + 10 = 28#

Transferring #10# on the right side

#12x = 28 - 10#

#12x = 18#

#x = 18/12#

#x=3/2#
