Consider two acids,

puu.sh

which we will call X and Y, respectively.

When we deprotonate X, the oxygen will stabilize the negative charge fairly well. However, when we deprotonate Y, the dipole moment towards the #CF_3# group delocalizes the negative charge across the molecule. This is more stabilizing than just sitting on an oxygen atom, it is similar (but much weaker) of an effect than resonance when considering acid strength.

Hence,

puu.sh

the equilibrium will lie right due to the preceding reasoning.
