Any real number will work for #x#

A number line with a continuous line in both directions to infinity will work.

Explanation:

#3(x-8)-2(10-x)<5(x-1)#
First lets convert this to something easier to manage
Left side
#3x-24-20+2x#
#5x-44#
Right side
#5x-5#
New but equal equation
#5x-44<5x-5#
Add 5 to either side
#5x-39<5x#
As you can see any real number inputted for #x# will work because the left side will always be #39# less than the right side.
