Diastereomers are non-superimposable non-mirror images of a molecule with more than one (usually) chirality center.

Consider (2R, 3R)-2-chloro-3-methylpentane,

If we invert one (not both!), then we obtain,

a diastereomer of the molecule.

If we inverted both, then we would have an enantiomer, which is the non-superimposable mirror image of the molecule.
