#x= b/9 -a#

Explanation:

Multiply the two terms inside the bracket by 9

#9x + 9a= b#

Transpose 9a to right side, with change of sign

#9x=b-9a#

Divide both sides by 9( the multiple before x)

#x=(b-9a)/9# which is same as #b/9 -a#

Simpler way:

Divide both sides of original by 9
#9(x + a)= b# becomes

#(x + a)= b/9#, get rid of the bracket

#x + a= b/9#,

Transpose a to right side, with change of sign

So #b/9 -a#
