The planets could be considered as a closed system .
Explanation:
Since the energy from the sun(solar energy) as a planet moves, the energy from the sun (solar and heat energy ) crosses its boundaries from the system and hits the earth whilst the matter(mass) remains fixed or constant with its surroundings.This surely makes the planet earth to be considered as a closed system
