Take the terms with variable v on left hand side and keep rest on Right hand side:

\frac { v } { 5} - \frac { v } { 15} = \frac { 6} { 5} -\frac { 2} { 3}

Make the denominators equal:

=> \frac { v } { 5} xx 3/3 - \frac { v } { 15} = \frac { 6} { 5} xx 3/3-\frac { 2} { 3} xx 5/5

=>\frac {3 v } { 15} - \frac { v } { 15} = \frac { 18} { 15} -\frac { 10} {15}

=> \frac {3v - v } { 15} = \frac { 18 -10} { 15}

=> (2v)/15 = 8/15

=> 2v = 8/15 xx 15

=> 2v =8

=> v = 8/2= 4

therefore v=4
