x=3

Explanation:

So I personally like to extend the denominator to get the same denominator. Apply the following:

2/3 +5/6=x/2

Extend the 2/3 so we get 4/6

Now we have:

4/6 +5/6 =x/2

9/6=x/2

Simplify by dividing by 3 so we get 3/2

so x=3.

x = 3

Explanation:

2/3+5/6=x/2

4/6+5/6=(3x)/6 (Make all of the fractions have a common denominator)

9/6=(3x)/6 (Simplify the fractions into a single fraction on each side of the equation)

9 = 3x (Multiply both sides by 6 and therefore cancelling out the denominator)

3 = x (Divide both sides by 3 and thus, getting the answer)

See below.

Explanation:

2/3 + 5/6=x/2

rArr (2xx2)/(3xx2) +5/6=x/2

Multiply with 2 on both color(red)(N^r) and color(red)(D^r)

rArr 4/6+5/6=x/2

rArr 9/6=x/2

Now, cross multiply

rArr 6x=9xx2

rArr x= (3cancel9 xx cancel2)/(cancel2cancel6

rArr x=3

Hope this helps :)
