A parcec is defined as the distance from where you would see the earth's orbit around the sun from a 1° angle.

It's in swedish but the yellow ball in the middle is the sun, the blue ball is the earth. As you see at the top the earth is seen from a 1° angle. the distance from the sun and the top of the line is 1 parsec that happends to be 3,26 light years
