Start with the line# y = x# (linear, has slope 1 and crosses the origin)

Since we have a # < #symbol (less than) rather than a # ≤ or ≥# sign, we use a dashed line.

The # < # symbol also implies less than, so we shade the lower part of the graph rather than the upper half.
