Change the equation into the y intercept form and use the slope and the y intercept to graph the equation.

Explanation:

# y = mx + b # is the y intercept form.

Change the existing equation so the y is on the left and x on the right side of the equation.

# x -x -y = y -x -y + 5# This leaves

# - y = -x + 5# Multiply both sides by -1

# -1 xx -y = -1 ( -x +5) which gives

# y = x -5 #

# - 5 = b # the y intercept or the beginning of the graph.

So start by making a point at the beginning ( 0, -5)

# 1 = m # the slope of the equation

So using the slope go up 1 and to the right 1 and make a point at (1,-4) the next point will be ( 2. -3)

Connect the three points and that is the graph of the equation
# x = y +5#
