If we are to assume that the triangle #OSF# is right angled at #ShatOF# the the distance #SF# is found by Pythagoras' theorem:

#SF=sqrt(10^2+12^2)=sqrt(244)=2sqrt(61)#

I don't know where you got the u from in your calculation, unless I'm missing something here.
