#k=ln((R(t))/(R(t+Delta)))/Delta#

Explanation:

You will need to use logarithms to solve for #k#:

#(R(t))/(R(t+Delta))=e^(kDelta)#

Take the natural logarithm of both sides:

#ln((R(t))/(R(t+Delta)))=lne^(kDelta)#

Here, #lne# is equivalent to the natural logarithm of #e# which is #1#.

#ln((R(t))/(R(t+Delta)))=(kDelta)#

Then isolate #k# by dividing the left side of the equation by #Delta#:

#ln((R(t))/(R(t+Delta)))/Delta=k#
