Because it was evolutionarily advantageous to translate proteins from mRNA via ribosomes and tRNA.
Translation is the synthesis of peptides from mRNA. Proteins are extremely relevant to life: they can be structural or functional.
Proteins are the building blocks of life, put together from DNA.
