Would not the physical properties of the solution be changed with respect to the pure solvent...

The osmotic potential of the solution would be changed. The vapour pressure of the solution would be changed, along with the boiling point. The freezing point of the solution would be changed...and these changes would ALL be proportional to the number of particles, i.e. the number of ions, in solution....these are the so-called #"colligative properties..."#

In addition the electrical conductivity of the solution would change with respect to the pure solvent....
