Why was spontaneous generation previously considered as a plausible explanation on how life can originate from an organic matter? How was it disproved?

Life originates only from life.

Explanation:

During medivial period there was a concept of origin of life from dead meat produces flies. No careful experiments were performed in support of the fact. Louis Paschur has done the experiment and demonstrated origin of life only from life. For example microorganisms produce only microorganisms. Flies produce only flies.
