Is it my imagination, or have a lot of contributors jumped the Socratic ship already?

Do not worry I am still here....

...at my place!

Unfortunately, I have noticed the same

Explanation:

I have seen both less contributors and less people asking questions, but generally the summer months are a "lull" period in Socratic activity, especially since most people aren't still in school. Because of this, we can't necessarily blame this on the Socratic website's numbered days.

One thing that I can say is that I haven't...earlier in the year I set a goal to answer 1000 questions on Socratic by the end of the year...the announcement of the transition of the website to a read-only version drastically cut my time...but I am still trying hard to get to 1000; Currently at 778.

There are still committed contributors that are even interested in continuing the "Socratic Spirit" onto another website. I'm proudly one of them.

Hope this helps!

Perhaps they have - I know I disappeared for a day or two to help deal with the news.

Explanation:

And yet here I am, doing my thing until I'm no longer allowed to do my thing here. And then I'll do my thing somewhere else.

As fans of Discworld by Terry Pratchett may remember, one of Granny's favourite sayings was "You do the work that is in front of you." And I think that doesn't just apply to a flat world carried on the backs of four elephants, which are in turn carried on the back of Great A'tuin, the Space Turtle.

I guess I'm one of the reasons for this observation. I'm basically gone.

Explanation:

As I believe I noted with the original notice of the closure of Socratic.org, I'm going elsewhere to contribute. I'm averaging 2-3 hours a day with face-to-face tutoring; it's only local, not global but at least I can see that I'm helping someone.

Hopefully some focus will come out of all the running about but, frankly, until it does I have more productive things I can be doing.
