How do you graph #y+8=0#?

First, make #y# by itself by subtracting #color(blue)8# from both sides of the equation:
#y + 8 quadcolor(blue)(-quad8) = 0 quadcolor(blue)(-quad8)#

#y = -8#

Since there is no "#x#" in the equation, that means that #y# is a constant and it is always #-8#.

As you can see, #y# is always #-8#, no matter what the #x# value is.
