Molarity is a comparison of the moles of solute dissolved in a given volume of solution.

This equation is #Molarity = (mol of solute)/ (Liters of Solution)#

If we want to find how many moles of #KNO_3# are necessary to make a solution that is 0.445 M and contains 37.5 mL, we would solve using the equation

#M = (mol)/ L#

M = 0.445 M
mol = ???
L = 37.5 mL or 0.375 L

#M L = mol#

#0.445M (0.0375 L) = x mol#

mol = 0.0167 moles

I hope this was helpful.
