$c$ = concentration

$n$ = no. moles

$v$ = volume

So $n = c v$

In dilution problems like this the total amount of material stays the same, you are just diluting it.

A useful expression is:

${C}_{1} {V}_{1} = {C}_{2} {V}_{2}$

So ${C}_{2} = \frac{{C}_{1} {V}_{1}}{{V}_{2}} = \frac{0.5 \times 125}{\left(775 + 125\right)} = 0.0694 m M = 69.4 \mu M$
