The equation could be in the form :

#y - y_0 = m(x - x_0)#

where #m# is the gradient and #(x_0, y_0)# is any point that lies on the line. Such as the point #(2, -4)#
And so #m= 1/2#

Hence equation: # y - (-4) = 1/2(x - 2)# Or
#y + 4 = 1/2(x - 2)#
