where $m$ is the gradient and $\left({x}_{0} , {y}_{0}\right)$ is any point that lies on the line. Such as the point $\left(2 , - 4\right)$
And so $m = \frac{1}{2}$
Hence equation: $y - \left(- 4\right) = \frac{1}{2} \left(x - 2\right)$ Or
$y + 4 = \frac{1}{2} \left(x - 2\right)$
