I think you want where 1/2x^n/{n!}# converges, boy it obviously converges pointwise on $\mathbb{R}$ and uniformly on every compact in $\mathbb{R}$ to the function 0 (you can use the Cauchy criterion for the exponential series, you know the series of that converges on $\frac{e}{2}$, so the succession must go to 0 in $\mathbb{R}$)
