If it is about car performance, it could be the power/torque plots. These will tell you the RPM regime at which the car performs better.

"Figures" is usually referred to different kind of graphics that represent data. So, depending on what you are studying, the figures will be different.
Colloquially, by "figures" people mostly mean a spread of data, or a graphical representation of those data.

I am by no means a car expert, but i figure it could be referred to what I said above. When it comes to racing, knowing the regime of best performance tells you a lot more than just "top speed".

By the way, make sure that what their race is legal, in a sanctioned circuit, etc. Private car races outside of a race track, following all the security measures is illegal (at least in my country, i assume in yours too).
