By analysing homologous organs.


Organs with same structure but different functions are homologous organs .These state organisms with similar body designs have a common ancestor which had basic body structure.

For e.g. forelimbs of humans,birds,bat,frog ,lizard have different functions but same structure, which indicates of presence of common ancestor with basic body structure from which all these organisms have evolved .
