Steamed food will have less calorie and more vitamins will be retained in it compared to food prepared by traditional cooking.

Explanation:

Steaming preserves vitamins which are often lost in conventional cooking. For example when steamed, broccoli retains 81% vitamin C, but when cooked in water, only 30%. Steaming also preserves natural colour.

Steamed food will contain less calorie as it does not involve frying. Hence people watching their weight, prefer steamed food.

Steaming of vegetables kills germs, hence food is safe for consumption.
