Geographic North Pole may be determined from a map and magnetic North Pole is indicated by a compass.

Explanation:

The Geographic pole may be calculated from one’s location based on celestial navigation (star positions and times). The magnetic pole is wherever it is, from the indication of a magnetic compass. It is only about 1.5 degrees off from the geographic pole at temperate lattitudes, and indicated on many maps for navigation corrections.
