Hydrogen, itself do not have bonds


Hydrogen itself do not have bonds.
But Hydrogen gas is formed by forming one covalent bond between two Hydrogen atom.
Hence Hydrogen atom can form co-valent bond.
This co-valent bond is formed by mutual sharing of single elctron from each H atom resulting in one bond, H--H.
"A covalent bond is a chemical bond that involves the sharing of electron pairs between atoms"
