Cerebral Palsy is a condition caused by damage to the brain that results in impaired muscular function and other disabilities.

Explanation:

Cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition or disorder caused by malformation of the brain or damage to the brain before or during or immediately after birth.

The condition usually manifests as impaired muscular coordination and body movements.

There are various reasons for the brain damage that causes Cerebral Palsy: abnormal development in the foetal stage, complications during labour or the birthing process, accidents during or shortly after delivery, infections or injuries, etc.

The extent of muscular dysfunction varies from person to person from mild impairment that offers little restriction to gross impairment that might restrict the person completely, sometimes even with seizures.

Occasionally, intellectual impairment, difficulties in communication, vision and hearing dysfunction also exhibit themselves in Cerebral Palsy.

The extent will depend on the location, the timing, and the seriousness of the damage to the brain. Cerebral Palsy , however, is non-progressive.
