The ecosystems have two main factors i.e., biotic and abiotic.
The abiotic factors are the flow of energy and cycling of minerals. We can't consider an ecosystem without the minerals and source of ultimate energy available.
The energy flow is in unidirection, while the minerals again come back to the original sources. Both help the ecosystem many ways. Thank you
