The sun is a star in the Milky Way galaxy, just one of billions in the universe.

Explanation:

We know naturally what a star is because of the Sun. They range in size, but the Sun is pretty average at 1.4 billion meters across, which takes light about 4.6 seconds to cross.

Earth is 8 light minutes away from the Sun. The next closest star is about 3 lightyears away.

Galaxies are billions of stars which are clustered together. The Milky Way is what we live in and the closest by is Andromeda. The width of the Milky Way is about 200,000 lightyears.

There are billions of galaxies, each of which are millions of lightyears away from each other.

The universe is everything! Because of the expansion and age of the universe and the speed of light, we can see - to some degree - about 100 billion lightyears.

So I hope that enlightens how all three things are related and gain some intuition about how to use them in a sentence.
