If I’ve understood the question correctly, this refers to what we call Olber’s paradox.

Explanation:

The paradox states that (given certain assumptions) any line of sight in a clear, dark sky should terminate in a star, and no matter how distant, some light should reach us from that star, so th3 night sky should be bright, not dark.

As often, the paradox is best resolved by examining the assumptions under-pinning it. These are that the universe is infinite, static and contains a random distribution of stars. Both of the first two are contradicted by the Big Bang theory as a hot, dense initial state implies the universe cannot be infinite nor static.
