The order of the planets is Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

Explanation:

Mercury is the closest plant to the Sun. It is small, rocky and hot.

Venus is the second planet. It is about the same size as the Earth. It is rocky with a think hot atmosphere.

Earth is the third planet. It is rocky with a breathable atmosphere.

Mars is the fourth planet. It is rocky and smaller than Earth. It has a thin atmosphere.

Jupiter is the fifth planet and it is a gas giant. Gas giants are mainly Hydrogen and Helium It is the largest planet. Its gravity affects the rest of the solar system

Saturn is the sixth planet. It is also a gas giant.

Uranus is the seventh planet. It is an ice giant which is a gas giant with quantities of water, methane and ammonia.

Neptune is the eighth planet. It is also an ice giant.

Pluto used to be the ninth planet until it was demoted to a dwarf planet. In fact Pluto's orbit crosses Neptune's orbit and they alternate for eighth and ninth place.

It is now through that the is a ninth planet much further out than Neptune, though it hasn't been detected yet.
