The scientific revolution created an outlook that a world view based solely on the material universe was possible.

Explanation:

The scientific revolution was based on a world view that the universe was rational because it was created by a rational being.

Kepler kept working on finding an equation for the orbits of the planets because he was convinced that God would create a solar system that was rational and could be expressed mathematically.

Newton said that his job was to think God's thoughts after God had thought them. Newton's laws reduced the universe to a set of Mathematical laws that governed the entire universe.

The Enlightenment philosophers went a step further than Newton. If the universe could be reduced to a set of mathematical laws then there was no need for God. Everything could be explained in terms of natural laws that could be discovered and understood through rational thought and human reason.

The scientific revolution inspired a world view that material universe is all that exists. Human thought and reason became the center of this philosophy that became known as the Enlightenment.
