Groundwater, lakes (limnitic systems) and rivers

Explanation:

Groundwater supplies provide water in many areas. If there is no surface water in an area, people dig wells to get groundwater.

Lakes (limnitic systems) provide water to people living near lakes. There are many lakes that contain freshwater (not salty water). There are some lakes that contain salty water (such as Salt Lake (UTAH) in the USA).

Rivers provide water too. Rivers are good water sources if they are not contaminated by natural or anthropogenic contaminants.
