Through trade via the Silk Road.

Explanation:

The Abbasid Dynasty controlled the Western end of the land trade route, or Silk Road, from China. A variety of trade items as well as Diseases, Knowledge, and Technologies made there way though many hands to and from China and the Middle East.

This trade route had significant effect on the history of Europe as well.
