#"Diastereomers"#, or #"diastereoisomers"# are geometric isomers that are NOT mirror images.....

And thus if we have a stereoisomer, with 2 chiral centres, say #"RR"#, this has an #"enantiomer"#, i.e. the #"SS"# isomer, and two diastereomers, i.e. #"RS"# and #"SR"# (which MAY be the same molecule).

Given the definition, cis and trans olefins, and ring structures, can share a diastereomeric relationship....
