Explanation:

Normally, the fimbriae take up the oocyte from the coelomic cavity. The ciliated epithelium of the fallopian tubes push it inside where it meets the sperm and then by a complex procedure forms a zygote which ultimately develops into an embryo. If the cilia stop functioning to aid the movement of the embryo towards the uterus, it falls back into the coelomic cavity and may get implanted into the intestines. This is ectopic pregnancy.
