Lakes, groundwaters and rain harvesting

Explanation:

Rain harvesting was practised long time ago but there are still some places do this activity. When it rains people store rainfall in some tanks. They use this water when they need water.

Lakes (limnetic water bodies) are also another source of water supply. In the USA and Canada, some municipalities use lake water (for example in the Great Lakes region).

Groundwater resources are also important when there is no river or lake is located nearby of a city/town. Aquifers provide water as long as they are not dried up.
