    a) The Puritans cold not speak the language which made employment difficult.
    b) the Puritans had no political or social standing in Holland which made employment difficult.
    c) The Puritans were forced into substandard crowed living conditions in Holland because of lack of income.
    The Puritans wanted to leave Holland.

  3. The Puritans feared the influence of the Dutch culture on their children.
    a) The Puritans believed that only people who lived a pure godly life could be saved. Being saved by faith and grace, not church rituals or merit would be evidenced by a pure simple lifestyle.
    b) The Dutch had a very tolerant society, The worldly lifestyle and freedom of the Dutch society was seen as a threat to the purity of the Puritan's children.
    The Puritans did not feel that they and their children could remain in Holland and stay pure.

The Puritans left England because of religious persecution and desire for religious freedom. The Puritans went to Holland because of the religious tolerance in Holland. The Puritans left Holland because of economic hardships and fear of the Dutch culture.

The Puritans came to America to create a cultural climate where they could be have religious, economic, and cultural freedom. The Puritans wanted to create their own culture and society.
