No Carbon 14 is produced in the atmosphere by radiation causing a Nitrogen atom to lose a positron becoming Carbon 14.

Explanation:

The assumption is that the rate of conversion of Nitrogen in the atmosphere has been relatively constant through out the vast time of the earth. By measuring the amount of radioactive Carbon 14 presently in the atmosphere and recently dead organic material a base line can be established for the percentage of the Carbon 14 in the atmosphere.

The rate at which Carbon 14 breaks down can be calculated by measuring the amount of Carbon 14 in a sample of a known age and comparing the percentage of Carbon 14 left in the sample. This is known as a half live. The half life of Carbon 14 has been calculated to be approximately 5700 years.

The age of samples based on the half life of Carbon 14 may be inaccurate if the assumptions of the uniform processes are not valid. Regardless the production of Carbon 14 is irrelevant to the Creation Evolution debates. The half life of Carbon 14 makes it only useful for "fossils" less than 50,000 years,. This makes Carbon 14 useful for archeology but not geology or paleontology.

The "Scientist" that used Carbon 14 to debunk Creationists is not worthy of the name Scientist.
