Some questions you might ask yourself:

What is the purpose of the quiz? Is it for fun, competition, to be published in a magazine?

Who will be attempting to answer the questions?

Is access to Google, etc. available to those participating?

What subject areas are appropriate?

How much time will participants have to answer the questions?

Should the quiz include harder and easier questions, to make it fun and challenging for everyone?

Should the quiz include questions for which the participants are not expected to know an exact answer, but are to compete by making the best guess?

Would it be helpful to make at least some of the questions multi-choice?

How much effort will be involved in scoring as a result of the choice of questions?
Set yourself some criteria for a good quiz, then attempt to meet them.
For example, you might adopt something like this:

The answers should not be immediately available via Internet search.

Each question should be answerable by about half of the individual participants or participating teams.
