$y = - 20$

#### Explanation:

if $y = - 5$ when $x = 2$ find $y$ when $x = 8$ that means:

$\frac{8}{2} = 4$ => $x = 2 \cdot 4$ => $x = 8$

Answer $y = - 5 \cdot 4$ => $y = - 203$

Multiply $4$

$y = - 20$

#### Explanation:

You know what? Math is not an easy subject so for students, we need to try to be smarter than the subject. So this problem is tricky but if we used our intelligence we can work it.

Here is how I did it :) I called it "MyWay"

$- 5 \ldots \ldots \ldots . . 2$
$y \ldots \ldots \ldots \ldots 8$

Then we do cross multiply

$2 \cdot y = 8 \cdot - 5$

$2 y = - 40$

Divide both sides by $2$

$\frac{2 y}{2} = \frac{- 40}{2}$

$y = - 20$

Boom! See...we make it easy!

I hope this helps!
