How do we represent molecular geometry?

Have you thought of making a model......?

Explanation:

Now clearly it is difficult to represent a three dimensional structure on two dimensional paper. One way organic chemists get around this is to make models. As I have said before, the desks of very distinguished professors of organic and inorganic chemistry will have several models of the molecules they are working on. The prof will have a fiddle with the models when an idea strikes them.

So make the model, and then transfer this geometry to the printed page; and this is not at all straightforward. Clearly, you need to practise this.
